Hello Chattanooga! We are Bread & Butter an artisan bakery and local market located in Red Bank, just 10 minutes north of Downtown Chattanooga. A good way to describe us is as a micro batch artisan bakery specializing in European and West Coast style breads.
And while bread may be at our core, we also offer a variety of irresistible baked treats. Try our fresh scones, pockets, muffins, tarts, cookies, and croissants.
You can also find a variety of local products such as: Sequatchie Cove Creamery, Olive Chattanooga, Harvest Roots, Tickiwoo Farm Pasture Raised Eggs, Walden Ridge Honey, Velo Coffee, Chattanooga Butter Company, Hoff and Pepper and Mama Crunk's Pies.
We also carry an assortment of cured and preserved meats from American companies with ethically raised animals with no antibiotics or added hormones, and nitrates added: Creminelli Fine Meats, La Quercia and Alexian Pate Specialty Meats.
If you think we put care into our baking, just wait till you see how much care we put into sourcing our ingredients. We work with as many local farmers to give you the fresh, in-season, local ingredients.
Real food is at our core. We don't use preservatives or processed ingredients, and we support other local artisans and farmers that have the same high standards.
Each loaf of bread is mixed, shaped and scored by hand allowing every batch of bread to be as delicious as possible. We believe that bread should be flavorful, natural and creative, which is why our bread will always contain the highest quality ingredients and maintain simple but interesting flavors.
By employing a "low and slow" fermentation technique our breads showcase all of the flavors hidden within a simple grain. Many bakeries will use large amounts of yeast to rush their bread into production, while at Bread & Butter time is our secret ingredient (shhhh, don't tell anyone).
